Fear of Clowns You are a 6 year old and afraid of clowns. The mere thought of their pale skin, blood-shot noses, discolored hair, and swollen feet send you running to you Mommy. While comforting you, she explains that the library performers they are about to see are not typical clowns. You believe her, but stay by her side holding her hand (just in case). In flashy clothes, David Slick struts onto the stage with a book. He talks excitedly about various skills he has learned from books in the library. You can relate since you have read several books in the library (with Mommy’s help). He goes on to explain that he likes to read laying down. Surprisingly, he takes the book and reads it while laying down and balancing it on his nose! He then asks several children how they like to read before showing more unique reading possibilities like while unicycling, juggling, and even surfing. No longer afraid, you leave your Mommy’s side and sit with other children on the front row. You have by no means lost your fear of clowns, but you’ve gained a greater appreciation for reading library books.
You Become Part Of The Show! While watching the jugglers throw 6 rings back and forth to each other, suddenly, one of them kindly invites you to help them do a trick they can’t do without you. You hesitantly agree and are assisted to center stage where you become part of The Show! You are asked to simply stand still and hold a long piece of stiff spaghetti with your lips. The rings are skillfully juggled around you, but nowhere near you or the spaghetti. Slowly, the rings come closer and closer to the spaghetti. Finally, one of the rings hits the piece of spaghetti and knocks it from your lips to the floor! The crowd applauses enthusiastically and you bow proudly as soon as the jugglers stop throwing the rings around you. As a reward for helping the Slicks, you are the first to choose one of the juggling books to borrow from the library.
Grand Finale David Slick astounded you by juggling 7 colored rings and rapidly shuffling them all onto his neck. It looked like a rainbow! He made your side hurt from laughing when he juggled with both arms wrapped around his back, rolled beanbags on his head, and even juggled an egg and a bowling ball! You are still mystified about the lights that appeared on his fingers from nowhere and the scarf that kept changing colors. This is so far the most fun you have ever had at the library and it’s not even over yet. Sadly, all good things must end, but not without a bang. It is time for the GRAND FINALE! When you are told it has nothing to do with fireworks you are disappointed, but as soon as you see what it is your excitement returns. David Slick brings out a unicycle. This is not just any little unicycle clowns use, this is not even the heavy duty mountain unicycle he used earlier to jump rope and ride up/down the stage stairs. This is a 6-foot tall unicycle that lifts him up to 10 feet in the air while he is riding it. After balancing the tall unicycle on his chin and doing the crab walk, the courageous performer dares to ride the unicycle and pass juggle 6 flaming torches with his brother who is wobbling on the rolling balance board (surfboard). To everyone’s surprise, the performers escort all the librarians to the stage and they pass the flaming torches on the unicycle and surfboard around them! Nobody expected that (except the librarians)!

Inspiring the next generation of performers! |

Juggling around volunteers at libraries is always a hit. David Slick was first inspired to juggle when he saw his brother being juggled around over 10 years ago. |

Expect wonders from the best juggler and best juggling team in all of DFW! The performance package includes a huge variety of rare physical skills, the best equipment, and unique presentation. The customer may choose which features to include or exclude from the package or leave it to Slick’s discretion
Stainless steel machetes, flaming torches, eggs, and even a real bowling ball are incorporated into hilarious audience-engaging routines, David Slick does tricks with 7 beanbags and juggles 7 rings juggled in a dizzying array of color. Can someone juggle with both arms stretched behind their back? There are few ways that David Slick can’t juggle. *Fire and knife juggling are done with safe precautions. An accident has never occurred in Slick’s show. When both Slicks perform together a new dimension of juggling is possible: pass juggling. With volunteers in the middle, balls, clubs, torches, knives or almost anything else can be juggled around them.
UNICYCLING
This isn’t a cute clown on a little wheel. David Slick’s MOUNTAIN unicycle jumps ledges, rides downstairs, and even skips rope! The 6-foot tall unicycle tall puts him at about 10 feet in the air . . . while juggling!
How many people do you know can juggle? How many do you know are over 8 feet and juggle? This eye-catching spectacle is hard to miss in any size crowd. Slick’s stilts and pants are top of the line and when combined with his skills, it creates a feature you the audience won’t soon forget.
Taking almost anything from the audience (shoes, pens, paper, chairs), David Slick can balance it on his face. Slick can balance a chair on his face while doing sit ups AFTER the occupant has kindly been removed.
Standing on a board on a large pipe, David Slick surfs with juggling tricks, spinning jumps, and an amazing trick: standing on only foot, he kicks a piece of food (preferably candy or something that is part of a well balanced meal—pun) into his mouth.
TEAM JUGGLING
David and Devin Slick often perform together to make the best juggling team in DFW.
David Slick changes colors of scarves and lengths of rope in front of children’s eyes. Lights appear on his fingertips and he always knows what card the volunteer chose.
CARD THROWING Taking an ordinary playing card, David Slick throws it over a crowd a distance of over 100 feet! For a laugh, David Slick puts Styrofoam all over a volunteer and safely throws the cards into it. He can even cut through paper and pop balloons by throwing playing cards at them! Note: Playing cards can only hurt you if they hit your eyes, therefore, all volunteers for these tricks are provided with comical, but effective safety goggles
BALLOON TWISTING This will add a twist to your event (bet you didn’t see that pun coming). Balloons are a fascination for children and even more so when sculpted into animals, hats, and more.
FACE PAINTING I challenge you to find another face painter worse than David Slick. Thank goodness whoever is painted can’t see it. He uses stencils to help him stay within the lines. Children do have fun being painted and sometimes painting the painter.
Majoring in elementary education, David Slick knows a thing or two about teaching. Both Slicks have taught their skills at elementary school Fine Arts Days and even at the college level. The number of people they have taught to juggle is in the thousands. They have tons of equipment that he can bring to teach a large group at your event.
David Slick’s “other” skills are highly unusual and crowd-pleasing. Three cigar boxes are quickly manipulated with his hands, feet, and head. Canes are juggled and spun around his body. A devil stick (or rhythm stick) dances on the two hand sticks and all over him. A spinning plate is carefully balanced in his mouth and a bottle on his head while juggling and surfing. Fire eating is the most dangerous stunt he is training himself to master.
